Is my information always encrypted?

Yes always. Unlike most technology and service providers who don’t encrypt information 100% of the time Blueshift ensures that data backup information is encrypted before transfer and remains encrypted at all times.

How is your service priced?

Monthly service fees are based only on the amount of data being backed up and stored. Blueshift doesn’t charge for data uploads or downloads. Additionally, we don’t charge clients based on the number of protected servers, desktop or mobile devices – only on data volumes.

Can I try before I buy?

Absolutely. Blueshift offers potential clients and partners a two week proof-of-concept (POC) where you’re able to test our service on your servers, desktops or mobile devices.

Who can see the data at Blueshift?

Data is encrypted with a password known only to the client. Blueshift can only see the actual data volume and not specific data.

Blueshift promotes its solution as agent-less. How is this different than your competitors?

Agent-less backup, as the name indicates, is a data backup solution that does not require installation of software agents on each and every server, desktop or mobile device that you intend to backup. Our competitors use traditional data backup and recovery solutions that require software to be installed on each and every device, then you reboot the device to complete the installation process – with an agent-less solution no reboot is required.

How does the Agent-less solution work?

Agentless software utilizes standard Windows API’s like VSS or VMware’s VADP and initiates backup from the connecting machines on the network in a step by step manner. The data to be backed up is made ready for backup from the controlling system. The controlling system then communicates with VSS or VADP and requests them to create a snapshot of the volume and feed the same to the remote backup server via the controlling machine interface. Full virtual machines and physical machines can be recovered in the same manner.

Is there a limit to the amount of data I can backup?

There is no limit to the amount of backups you can perform and this is one of the keys to our service. If you want to backup every hour you can! Or maybe you want to backup only once per day or once per week you can!

What data can I backup?

You have complete control over the files that are backed up. You are able to backup anything from virtual machines, SQL databases, MS Exchange mailboxes to word documents and other important data. You can even backup the system state of your machine in case you need to restore the whole computer.
